In this paper we consider the equations that govern the motion of perfect gases. We explicitly characterize some classes of steady solutions in two and three space dimensions, by introducing invertible point transformations suggested by Lie group analysis; moreover, by using various transformations known as substitution principles, new steady and unsteady solutions are constructed.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the evolution by surface diffusion of material voids in a linearly elastic solid, focusing on the evolution of voids with large surface energy anisotropy. It is well known that models for the time evolution of similar material surfaces can become mathematically ill-posed when the surface energy is highly anisotropic. In some cases, this ill-posedness has been associated with the formation of corners along the interface. Here the ill-posedness is removed through a regularization which incorporates higher order terms in the surface energy. Spectrally accurate numerical simulations are performed to calculate the steady-state solution branches and time-dependent evolution of voids, with a particular emphasis on inferring trends in the zero regularization (c→0) limit. For steady voids with large anisotropy we find that apparent corners form as c→0. In the presence of elastic stresses σ the limiting corner angles are most often found to differ from angles found on the (σ=0) Wulff shape. For large elastic stresses we find that steady solutions no longer exist; instead the void steadily lengthens via a filamenting instability referred to as tip streaming.  相似文献

For a class of nonlinear filtration equation with nonlinear second-third boundary value condition, it is shown that a priori boundary of the solution can be estimated and controlled by initial data and integral on the boundary of the region. The priori estimate of the solutions was established by iterative method. By using this estimate the solutions may blow-up on the boundary of the region and thus it may have asymptotic non-stability.  相似文献

The effect of polyethyleneimine (PEI) concentration on the properties of titanium dioxide (TiO2) suspensions is studied with or without the addition of an electrolyte (barium acetate). Measurements of the apparent viscosity and the stability of TiO2 suspensions showed that PEI is an effective dispersant for TiO2 particles in suspension in the absence of an electrolyte, not only reducing the viscosity of the suspension but also increasing its stability. In the presence of an electrolyte, however, small quantities of polyethyleneimine could neither disperse the TiO2 particles nor de-crease the viscosity of the TiO2 suspensions; only PEI concentrations beyond saturation adsorption could perceptively improve the stabilitv of TiO2 suspensions.  相似文献

Universal motions with uniform steady vorticity form a corolla of linear spaces derived from rigid body motions. Closely related to potential flows, they satisfy two extensions of Lagrange theorem, are investigated with the help of complex functions, as stand celebrated when be plane. They take place in hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, geophysics, astrophysics, turbulence, physics of plasmas and superfluid helium. In all the cases, arbitrary unsteady span-wise translations permit to generalise as well as to exhibit helical or 3D universal motions. External free convection boundary-layer flows are usually treated by neglecting the effect of viscous dissipation. This assumption always results in a non-parallel flow, besides a strong parallel component also a weak transversal component of the (steady) velocity field occurs. The present paper shows, however, that the weak opposing effect of the buoyancy forces due to heat release by viscous dissipation, can give rise along a cold vertical plate adjacent to a fluid saturated porous medium to a strictly parallel steady free convection flow. This boundary-layer flow is described by an algebraically decaying exact analytical solution of the basic balance equations.  相似文献

A simple mechanical system containing a low-frequency vibration mode andset of high-frequency acoustic modes is considered. The frequencyresponse is calculated. Nonlinear behaviour and interaction betweenmodes is described by system of functional equations. Two types ofnonlinearities are taken into account. The first one is caused by thefinite displacement of a movable boundary, and the second one is thevolume nonlinearity of gas. New mathematical models based on nonlinearequations are suggested.
